HR & Talent Acquisition Intern

6-month Full-Time Internship

Learn How Great Hiring Really Happens.

Interested in HR and curious about what goes into finding, assessing and engaging the right people for different jobs?

Join ScienTec Consulting and learn the ropes of recruitment and talent acquisition from the ground up.

As a recruitment and HR consulting business, hiring is at the heart of what we do.

You'll work alongside experienced recruiters and business leaders and gain exposure to recruitment across different industries, professions and functional disciplines.

This isn't a backseat internship.

You'll learn by working on live assignments, speaking with real candidates and understanding how recruitment decisions are made.

What You'll Learn & Do

 Recruitment Methodology: Learn the Craft

Understand the complete recruitment lifecycle and the thinking behind each stage:

Understand the Role → Source → Engage → Screen → Assess → Shortlist → Interview → Offer → Onboard

You'll learn how to:

  1. Understand job requirements beyond simply reading a job description

  2. Identify the competencies, experience and attributes that make someone suitable for a role

  3. Write clear and engaging job advertisements

  4. Search for candidates using databases, job platforms, LinkedIn and other sourcing channels

  5. Screen CVs and distinguish relevant experience from keywords

  6. Conduct initial candidate conversations and screening

  7. Prepare candidate shortlists for recruiters and hiring managers

  8. Coordinate interviews, offers and onboarding

  9. Keep candidates engaged throughout the recruitment journey

Recruit Across Different Functional Areas

One of the biggest advantages of recruitment with us is breadth.

Rather than recruiting repeatedly for one type of position, you'll gain exposure to talent acquisition across different job families and disciplines, which may include:

  1. Technology & Digital

  2. Corporate & Business Functions

  3. Finance & Operations

  4. Human Resources

  5. Sales & Marketing

  6. Project & Programme roles

  7. Administrative & Professional Services

You'll begin to understand an important recruitment skill:

what makes a good candidate for one role may be completely different for another.

Talent Sourcing & Market Research

  1. Research talent pools and market availability for live assignments

  2. Build proactive candidate pipelines

  3. Learn different sourcing strategies for easy-to-fill versus difficult-to-fill positions

  4. Identify where relevant talent can be found and how best to engage them

  5. Observe hiring trends, candidate expectations and market movements

Candidate Experience & Employer Branding

Recruitment isn't only about filling vacancies: it's also about how people experience an organisation.

You'll:

  1. Communicate professionally with candidates

  2. Support candidate engagement throughout the hiring journey

  3. Contribute ideas to improve candidate experience

  4. Participate in career fairs and talent outreach activities where relevant

  5. Support employer-branding and recruitment content initiatives

HR & People Exposure

Beyond recruitment, you'll gain exposure to the wider employee lifecycle through:

  1. New-hire onboarding and engagement

  2. Internal HR communications

  3. Employee engagement activities

  4. HR reporting and recruitment KPIs

  5. Workplace and people initiatives
